Special Educational Needs and Disability
Richard Atkins is an inclusive school and we place great importance on the need to ensure that all our pupils are included equally in opportunities for learning.
We believe that all pupils are entitled to a quality provision that will enable them to achieve their potential.
The school’s ethos and the values we practice and promote aim to ensure that all the pupils at Richard Atkins, whatever their needs and abilities, have access to a rich and enjoyable curriculum. Our SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disability) Information Report sets out what we provide for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities throughout their time with us and on to the next stage of their education.
Our Policy documents and Schemes of Work are subject to regular review and the school is involved in ongoing self-evaluation to ensure that our aims and those principles that support inclusion are being appropriately implemented.
For further information, or to make a complaint, about the school's SEND provision please see our contact page. Details of our formal complaints procedure can be found on our policies page.
