Our Resource Base - The Bubble
Welcome to our Resource Base for pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs (SEMH).
The resource base is underpinned by the six nurture principles as described by Nurture UK:
1. Children’s learning is understood developmentally
2. The classroom offers a safe base
3. The importance of nurture for the development of wellbeing
4. Language is a vital means of communication
5. All behaviour is communication
6. The importance of transition in children’s lives.
Pupils refer to the base as ‘the bubble’, a name they chose in recognition of the protective sense of security the base provides and to remind adults that bubbles ‘pop’, enabling pupils to have opportunities to socialise and learn with their peers throughout the mainstream setting.
All pupils attending The Bubble still participate fully in the national curriculum. However, highly personalised provision coupled with adaptive teaching supports pupils to reach their full potential.
