Writing

At Richard Atkins we celebrate writing across the curriculum. Children have the opportunity and are encouraged to write for a range of purposes in all areas of the curriculum from EYFS up to Year 6.

We aim to develop confident writers who can write for a range of audiences and purposes such as letters, presentations, reports and speeches. We want our children to foster a love of writing and to gain vital skills that will support them in everyday life.

Our creative curriculum allows children to explore and dive into a range of topics which children can relate to including London, Battles of Britain and What a Wonderful World. Through these topics children are taught and supported in developing a command of the technical features such as grammar, spelling and handwriting.
